AFP y France 24: La desinformación, otra arma del CJNG — y las amenazas que recibí por documentarla

Contexto

El 26 de febrero, la agencia AFP distribuyó un reportaje que sería retomado por decenas de medios en todo el mundo. El artículo documentaba la operación de desinformación del CJNG durante los narcobloqueos y me citaba como la fuente principal que había identificado los tres grupos de cuentas coordinadas.

Mis hallazgos citados por la AFP

La AFP identificó más de 38,500 compartidas de contenidos falsos en diversas redes sociales. En el reportaje expliqué que detrás de esa amplificación había tres grupos diferenciados: el propio CJNG magnificando el caos, grupos oportunistas de derecha, y cuentas artificiales mezclando imágenes reales con IA.

France 24 añadió un dato que la AFP no había incluido en su primera versión: que tras publicar mi análisis en video en X, recibí amenazas directas. Era la primera vez que un medio internacional documentaba las represalias contra mi persona por este trabajo.

El impacto de la distribución AFP

Al ser distribuido por AFP, el reportaje apareció en medios de España, Argentina, Costa Rica, Suiza y otros países latinoamericanos. Entre los medios que lo reprodujeron: Tribuna Noticias, Swiss Info, Pacozea, La Nación (Argentina) y France 24 en español e inglés.

Esta distribución masiva aumentó mi exposición — y también la presión sobre mi seguridad.

Context

On February 26, AFP distributed a report that would be picked up by dozens of outlets worldwide. The article documented the CJNG’s disinformation operation during the narcobloqueos and cited me as the primary source who had identified the three groups of coordinated accounts.

My Findings as Reported by AFP

AFP identified more than 38,500 shares of false content across various social networks. In the report, I explained that behind this amplification were three distinct groups: the CJNG itself magnifying chaos, right-wing opportunist groups, and artificial accounts mixing real footage with AI-generated content.

France 24 added a detail not included in AFP’s first version: that after publishing my video analysis on X, I received direct threats. It was the first time an international outlet documented the reprisals against me for this work.

The Impact of AFP Distribution

Distributed by AFP, the report appeared in outlets across Spain, Argentina, Costa Rica, Switzerland and other Latin American countries — including Tribuna Noticias, Swiss Info, Pacozea, La Nación (Argentina), and France 24 in both Spanish and English.

This mass distribution increased my exposure — and the pressure on my personal security.
